I (Ash) spend quite a bit of time each week perusing the Internet for wedding ideas. Today I found a website that lets you create an App for your wedding. It's currently only available for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad, but supposedly it's coming to the Android Marketplace soon. If you have any of the Apple devices though, you can download a free app full of information on our wedding. Visit our personal website here. You do need an entrance code for the app, which is 02596.
Why is this useful? Well not much is useful until the day of. But on the day of the wedding you can check this app for a map to the barn, the bios of our wedding party, fun games to play while you're waiting, and more.

Many of you have received your save-the-dates and inside you'll notice a little card asking for one-two pieces of fabric to help us create a wedding quilt. Ash's Aunt Cheryl Swain is helping us create a quilt made up of fabric from everyone we love--including you! This post is to give you a little bit more information about his project.
If you have any questions about the quilt feel free to email Ash or Jason, or give one of us a call and we'll help you out.

This morning we officially booked a location for the reception and the ceremony. We are getting married exactly one year from today, Saturday, August 11, 2012, at the Simpson Barn in Johnston, Iowa. The ceremony will be held outside and the reception will follow inside the barn. We're starting to get more excited about all of this wedding business.
I'm thrilled we got a place booked because now the real fun can start!

Jason and I have officially started planning our wedding. My original plan was to work hard all summer on planning the wedding so the school year wouldn't be so hectic. Well, I basically failed completely in that attempt (you might want to avoid me for the next, oh, nine months).
We've looked a couple places to have our wedding and hopefully we will make a decision by the end of next week. I can't believe the wedding is only a year away. Planning a wedding is actually a lot of work, who knew, and I must say I am extremely grateful to have parents like mine and Jason's. They have been incredibly flexible and helpful in the wedding planning process and simply want Jason and I to be happy. Great parents!
